The ITS is pleased to welcome Alex Eskin as new ITS Senior Fellow in March. He will stay in Zurich for the spring semester 2023.

Future ITS Senior Fellow Alex Eskin

Alex Eskin is the Arthur Holly Compton Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. Eskin is a world-leader in several directions mathematics  (geometric group theory, ergodic theory, dynamics on flat surfaces). He has received several prizes for his work including the Clay research award in 2007 and the Breakthrough Prize in 2020 (for his work with Mirzakhani on invariant measures on the moduli of translation surfaces). He was an invited speaker at the ICM in 1998 and 2010. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences.
